The Christmas Dinner took place on 18th December at the Arnedale Hotel in Poole.
Over the weekend of 5th and 6th September 1981 we participated in hf ssb field day from Lytchett Matravers using the callsign G3ZPR/P. The weather was excellent, and despite some technical problems 432 contacts were made, down on the previous year. We came 34th place overall in the Open Section.
A special event station was run during the Great Dorset Steam Fair at Stourpaine. 162 contacts were made, mainly on 40m. Contacts were made with every English county. The best DX was a station in Alice Springs in Australia on 15m.
A competition to design the font cover of the Newsletter was started. Each month a different design was used. Click here to see some of the entries.
